Love yourself...

For a while now I have been feeling like I am letting myself down by not eating right or exercising. I always have an excuse for why I can't and it's all a bunch of bull shit. Thankfully I have a loving husband who knows when I need a little push to get my off my ass!

So I started going to a yoga studio called Namaspa Yoga in Redmond and I absolutely love it! The people there are welcoming and very sweet. It's the type of studio that isn't full of yogi snobs who act like you shouldn't be there if you are new and not sure what a crow or a waterfall pose is. I have been to three different yoga studios including the one I am currently at and this is by far the best one mostly because they allow me to pause when I need to without making me feel bad about myself.

Yoga used to just be another way to work out for me, but the more I do it the more I am realizing that it is about being in tune with myself body and soul. It challenges me which I love, yet it also is the most relaxing thing I have every experienced. I can feel it starting to change my life for the better and it makes me so happy. I strongly suggest trying a beginner yoga class, especially if you have been playing with the idea of starting yoga.

One thing I will say for sure is that I have such a hard time practicing at home because I just can't keep focused. There is way too much going on and I always have something that I need to do. At the studio though I am completely focused and able to just listen to my body and help myself grow into my practice. I feel like I am in a wonderful place in my life right now and am the happiest that I have been in a while. I will keep you all updated as I continue to go through this wonderful journey. I hope you all have a beautiful evening!

Until next time....

Keeping on track.

Hello to anyone who is reading this! Long time to see....really long time, I haven't been on here since April! What the heck is up with that nonsense! Anywho I have been a busy little bee lately. I am on the last week of my final class in school!! Whoop whoop! I will have my last final next week and finally not have to worry about classes anymore.

I am really going to try and focus on the things that I enjoy doing, like writing in this blog at least once a week! I have been doing more photography but still need a good camera (they are expensive). I will be posting pictures that I think other people would enjoy seeing and ones that I particularly enjoyed. Today I am posting a couple pictures from our last trip to Newport Oregon. What a gorgeous place! I would love to read any comments you have so don't be shy! I promise I won't stay away for so long from now on :)

Until next time....

Different ways to stay fit...

Hey there everyone! I was looking through my billions of pins on pinterest looking for a good mix of workout routines. I am not a huge fan of just doing cardio or just lifting weights. I really like to mix it up and have some variety in my workouts.

So this morning I got off my lazy butt and decided to throw something together. I ended up doing several different yoga poses: cat-cow pose, downward dog, warrior 1 and warrior 2. Then I transitioned into doing some cardio which included: jumping jacks, high knees, sumo squats, and running around the outside of our back yard several times with the dogs. After that I did some stretches and was done. It felt amazing just to get up and move around. I can definitely feel the difference in my body! It got me thinking about what other cool ways I could work out and have fun. I love music and I love to dance but I want to actually get a workout while doing it. I have never been a huge fan of those "Hip Hop Abs" or things like that because they are too structured for me. So after doing some research I have decided to try belly dancing.

I have tried it before and even have a video on beginners belly dancing. After researching how many positive things it does for the body I am really excited to try it and think it will be very beneficial to my health and fitness. I will let you all know how it goes, I am planning on starting later this evening after I finally stop slacking and get some homework done. If anyone else has done belly dancing and has some feed back please let me know, I would love to hear from you. As always I hope you are all happy and healthy.

Until next time...

Long Time No Blog

Wow it has been a REALLY long time since I have been on here. Not because I don't have anything to share but because we got a new computer and I was not able to get into my account :( I finally got into my old computer and retrieved my info so now....I'm back baby!!

So I don't even know where to start because I have no idea where I left off. I will start with saying that the hubby and I bought a house last October!! It is a cute little house on half an acre and we are in love with it! We recently got 3 Americauna chicks and two Black Runner ducklings! They are already getting so big! We are raising them for their eggs and don't really plan on eating them.

We have also planted a ton of stuff! 24 hills of potatoes, 15 asparagus plants, 5 different berry bushes, and 3 different fruit trees. We rototilled the front yard which was just weeds and crab grass and then reseeded grass in there. It was more work than I thought it would be! Raking all that crap out is hard work, I was sore for a long time! We have strawberries planted in a nice little flower box or in this case a fruit box (hehe). It has been so nice just being able to know that we have our own place and our own space to do what we want.

As far as fitness goes I have been SUPER lazy! I am trying to get back into it, but it's been really hard now that I am working and going to school. I am taking 3 classes right now and working 22 hours and I am tired all the time. If anyone knows of tricks to stay motivated I would really appreciate some input and suggestions!

I hope you are all happy and healthy and enjoying life! I look forward to sharing more with you now that I am back up and running!

Until next time...
